Vijay Sondhi Foundation
The Vijay Sondhi Foundation was established by Mr. Ajay Sondhi as a tribute to his elder brother, Late Shri Vijay K. Sondhi, whose life reflected integrity, intellectual depth, and a deep commitment to justice. Guided by these values, the Foundation supports young lawyers and law students and helps them in their professional growth.
The Foundation also hosts, among others, the Vijay Sondhi Memorial Championship, created to nurture thoughtful legal writing and encourage emerging voices in the profession, carrying forward Shri Vijay Sondhi’s belief in the power of ideas and disciplined advocacy.
The Vijay Sondhi Memorial Championship
Vijay believed deeply in the power of ideas to shape justice and the strength of words to move hearts and minds. The Vijay Sondhi Memorial Championship has been created to honour his memory and the ideals he lived by.
We invite young lawyers and students to question, reflect, and write about the subjects that stirred his passion and guided his purpose. Our aim with this initiative is to inspire lawyers and law students to uphold the values of excellence, integrity, and compassion.

Ranking Process
Topics for each edition of The Vijay Sondhi Memorial Legal Writing Championship are announced on the 15th of every month.
Participants are required to submit their articles by December 28th, 2025.
Results will be declared on the 9th day of the following month.
